I would like to get a very nice trigger job on a SS GP for the single Ruger forum I found the IBOK for the GP on Google (GP IBOK). I received the GP pdf this morning. I found the IBOK so helpful thought I should bump it back up so others could keep seeing it. There is a great resource called the GP IBOK that is a must have the original author had to remove it due to copywrite claims but you can.

I am one happy camper. I picked up a brand spankin new GP today. Slight difference in accuracy. It seems to like the heavier grain rounds more, they gave me tighter groups. All in all though, not bad accuracy.

I’ve been shooting 9mm and. Next on the shopping list is a holster, possibly a brighter front sight and I’d like to put sharp looking wood grip on it. Any suggestions are welcome. Anyway, I’m excited and wanted to share.

I think they are great revolvers. However, like you, I gp10 think much of the all black front sight. The front sights are very easy to change and the HiViz front sights come with red and green tubes and a couple of spares. Amazon sent me the wrong sight the first time.

I called and the lady on the phone immediately emailed me a shipping label and return form. She also sent me the correct sight with next gp100 delivery. I took the wrong sight to UPS that day.

I was surprised that after talking to her in the afternoon, my new sight arrived the next day. I was impressed with the way she handled the error.

Amazon is offering free shippping, so factor that into the price and I think it’s a pretty good deal. Last edited by Greybeard7; at Add shipping to cost consideration. I have owned a 6” GP since about It’s one of my favorites I would never hesitate to use it as a field gun on hunting trips or for home defense. The Gp is a very very nice revolver, I own one in. Belair56blackwolfHungryloltraktortalontcon Find all posts by Pvtoast. I bought one of those on my 21st birthday You’ll get all kinds of enjoyment out of it, I think, ibo it’s a very good woods gun.

I bought one from a friend that was a week old for I love that gun. I think mine is a 6 or 8 inch. The GP is a great revolver. Ruggedreliable and affordable. It’s myif I could only have one gungun. Actually it is the only handgun I own. I have one of my own in 4″. I gotta ditto the Hi-Viz sights. I like the factory rear sight but I just can’t see that black front sight sometimes.

The Hi-Viz is definitely hi-vis! And it was a piece of cake to install. All you gotta do is push that little pin on the front of the barrel in and lift the sight out. It took kbok 30 seconds to do. As far as grips go, I had the rubber grips with the wood inserts and I switched to the Hogue’s that you have on the one in your pic. The factory grips were ok but the thumb slot was a little obnoxious. It stuck out too sharply IMHO. There are a million different holsters out there but being that the gun is ggp100 and does not have any bluing to show wear; I like the Fobus evolution 2.

The Safariland duty type holsters are nice but the retention is a little much for my taste. It’s heft can be a positive or negative depending on your application of the gun. I carry it from time to time, To me it looks very nicely finished and the bluing is very deep.

Just be sure to rub parallel to ihok brush marks. I did a very dull Ruger Super Redhawk in. After a couple of hours it was so bright, it came out looking like it exited the glove compartment of an Eldorado owned by a New Orleans pimp!

ibpk Afterward I gave it a good wet cleaning in clean Kerosene, followed by a good oiling and it was ready to go. Flitz is avaliable from Midway in various sizes. It works so good Vp100 bought the 2 pound tub. It’s all I use on my Iboi Steel weapons. I iibok the Hi-viz front sight on it and the new grips came in.

Grips look OK, but the fit isn’t quite right, I needed to add a shim in order to prevent the grips from rocking. I’m planning on taking it iblk today to see how it fires. I can already tell that the new front sight is an improvement over the dark factory sight. Congrats on your new tank. When it comes to firearms, I’ll take rugged over pretty any day.

Sort of a more in depth owners manual. It will walk you thru a trigger job and general fine tuning. Disassembly is easier than any other DA revolver. A good once over with grit, a stone, and a polishing cloth the first time you take it apart is worth the effort. Polishing the inside of the forcing cone is a good idea on any revolver. Also, birchwood casey lead removing cloth is awsome at cleaning stainless.

As for ammo, they’re bore sighted with gr at the factory, so that tends to be the best shooter.

Fills my hand better than the factory Hogue. I bought a GP also but in the. We were shooting at a few leafs on a creek bank inok yards out.

Killed em all, damn fine revolver. Course Ive never had a complaint about Ruger’s revolvers. Previous left arrow key Next right arrow key Close Move.
