Jan 31, Hitessh Panchal rated it it was amazing. This one was a very light reading! The book is a compilation of lots Really LOTS of small stories.

Some of them are those which you might’ve already heard, but still will make you think in new light. Anthony De Mello, takes stories from every faith and belief and retells to grip you to the book. The book has lots of Quotes, and they are really good ones.

I have read a number of de Mello’s books but found this one disappointing. It is a collection of very brief pointed stories which can easily be inserted in speeches or sermons, but frankly I like the Treasury of Nelightened Folklore better. I would have prefered fewer stories and some of his perceptive comments on the stories. Mar 14, M.

There are millions types of meditation but so far, I have found stories as the shortest yet the most powerful one. Anthony de Melon is truly a great master in story meditation–not a single book of his disappointed me and I have qnthony the pleasure to disseminate his stories through Facebook posts and book-lending.

For ghe who are interested in stories, I would stro Ever since reading Anthony de Melon’s “One Moment Wisdom”, I have taken a different yet wonderful journey towards spirituality. For those who are interested in stories, I would strongly recommend “One Moment Wisdom” as the book to start with, as the stories imbedded are less subtle.

Enliggtened you can go on with other enlighrened my best knowledge, there are “The Song of the Bird”, “Taking Flight”, and this one “The Heart of the Enlightened”. What is special with these stories? No one other than de Melon has put it even more nicely: So the Spiritual Teachers of humanity, like Buddha and Jesus, created a device to circumvent the opposition of their listeners: They knew that the most entrancing words a language holds are ‘Once upon a time That is because the story will worm its way into your heart enlightemed break down barriers to the divine.

Many stories did not resonate with me, but I can imagine how they could have. I’ll read this book again in a couple of years. This is a collection of pithy, thought-provoking teaching stories, parables, fables and the like providing considerable material for reflection.

I come back to this one year after year as a source for sermon illustrations, springboards for giving talks to meditation classes, and my own personal contemplation.
