However, major organi- zation of goldberh spinal cord and brain stem is strongly emphasized, as this knowledge is vital in neurological localization and diagnosis. Fortunately, it is clinically unimportant to have a detailed understanding of the connections of the diencephalon and basal ganglia.

The author tries to be funny and sometimes it works better than others. A good refresher to apply basic neuroanatomy to clinical neurology. The basic functional unit in the CNS is the neuron Fig.

It also provides a rapid review for medical Boards and other exams which tend to emphasize clinically relevant aspects of neuro- anatomy. We shall try to restrict names to a minimum. There are too many names for the same thing. The book now includes and interactive CD with a lab section, 3D rotations, interactive anatomy, tutorial on neurologic localization, and quiz.
